BECOME A MEMBER
You automatically become a member of the plan after one year of regular and permanent employment with the City of Baltimore.
BENEFITS
Benefits paid from the fund are generated from employee contributions, City of Baltimore contributions and the investment returns of the fund.
MEMBERSHIP CREDITS
Members can also earn membership credits from direct purchase, transfers of service and military service.
TYPES OF BENEFITS
Benefits provided are separation benefits, disability benefits, death benefits and service retirement benefits.
ELIGIBILITY
Service retirement eligibility is 30 years of normal service regardless of age, OR age 65 and 5 years of service, OR age55 and 5 years of service (Early Retirement).
